Some schools offer Bachelors Degree in Business programs that may take significantly less time to complete than full programs.  The time it takes to complete a bachelor’s program depends on how many credits have already been earned.

  Students studying business management or administration will receive a basic education in the advanced principles of business and management, as well as develop their practical, managerial and communication skills. 

The programs allow students to specialize in one of several areas of concentration, such as international business, finance, real estate, computer information systems, or accounting.  They typically cover a range of topics, which may include business theory, business law and ethics, economics, business fundamentals, e-business, and project management.

  Bachelor of Business Administration programs offered on campus typically takes four years.  Programs include undergraduate studies such as English, math, science, history, and the humanities, as well as business management courses.  These programs can have different durations from 100 to 180 credits.  Some schools offer programs or accelerated courses that can be completed in 18 months with 80 credits.

After completing core business classes, students can focus on one specific aspect of business — such as marketing, finance, or accounting — or follow a general business curriculum that includes top-level courses in a variety of business disciplines.

·         Accelerated Business Degree Programs

  Typically, you can plan for four years to earn a bachelor’s degree in business, especially if you are studying at a traditional university.  However, if you are motivated and already have some business experience, you can shorten this period.  They are sometimes called fast programs, and they are offered in some online colleges.  Most high-speed programs work by curtailing a typical 16-week semester to just 5 or 10 weeks.  These short courses still cover the same amount of material, only they do it faster.

  If you choose a fast program, you should be prepared to read and write a lot outside of class.  The advantage is that classes are usually offered all year round, not just spring and fall, and they offer the flexibility to work and complete classes at the same time.  Some online schools will also allow you to transfer credits from other programs or even get credit for relevant work experience.

  Once you have completed your bachelor’s degree and spent several years in the workforce gaining experience, you may want to consider returning to school.  To date, the most popular diploma for graduates is a master’s degree in business administration (MBA).  According to the National Center for Education Statistics, more than 100,000 master’s degrees in general business administration was awarded during the 2017-2018 academic year.

  An MBA degree is a popular choice for business professionals of all kinds who want to move up the corporate ladder.  In fact, you may find that without this higher education degree, your chances of getting leadership positions are very limited in certain areas of the business world.

  Cost of Bachelors Degree in Business Administration

  A bachelor’s degree is often a minimum educational requirement for employers, so students who intend to pursue a career in business will have to obtain it.  The cost of a four-year bachelor’s degree in business administration ranges from about $ 9,000 in public four-year colleges to just over $ 30,000 in private nonprofit four-year colleges.

  For professionals who want to continue their business education and earn an MBA, the average cost of training is about $ 60,000 per year.  Based on the rates posted on their websites at the time of writing, the cost of an MBA for Harvard Business School students is $ 58,875, while at Columbia Business School the cost of an MBA is $ 63,148.  The tuition fee for the MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School is $ 68,210.

  What can you do with Bachelors Degree in Business Administration?

General coursework provides students with the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills, communication skills, ethical leadership of servants and a global perspective.  The specialty itself includes 56 credits of required courses.  These courses are designed to enable students to develop fundamental knowledge of business competencies. 

  In addition to these specialty courses, many universities have a number of credits that remain open to electives.  Students are encouraged to study electives that nurture their own passions and interests.  However, it is also good to take electives that support future career aspirations.  For example, those who are thinking of starting their own business may want to take entrepreneurship courses.
